DTC/Performance Lab

Creative R&D for DTC growth teams

Find better
things to test.

We plug into established DTC growth teams to uncover new customer angles, turn them into creative experiments, and use performance data to decide what to test next.

The bottleneck

At scale, creative volume only compounds when the learning compounds with it.

More media spend creates more demand for creative. The hard part is keeping customer insight, creative strategy, production and performance learning connected as velocity rises.

Without that loop, more output can become expensive noise.

01Creative fatigue

The next territory to explore is unclear.

02Velocity without direction

Work starts from formats instead of questions.

03Learning leakage

Signals exist, but rarely compound in one place.

From question to experiment

Strategy is only useful when it survives contact with creative.

Illustrative experiment — not client work.

01 / QUESTION

Can visual demonstration make softness more believable than testimonial language?

If tactile proof is shown instead of described, cold audiences should understand the product faster.

A / PROOF DEMOShow the benefit.

Texture, compression, stretch, recovery.

B / USE-CASE CONTRASTMake comfort immediate.

Cold room → product on → visual comfort cue.

C / CLAIM + PROOFPair language with evidence.

Customer claim supported by a visual demonstration.

04 / READ THE SIGNAL

Compare first-3-second hold, click-through rate and conversion rate against the current softness-led control.

Then deepen, reframe, or kill the territory.

Where we fit

An external Creative R&D layer for teams already shipping at scale.

We do not replace your media buyers, creators, designers or brand team. We add focused discovery and experimentation capacity around them.

What you get

Not a content subscription.
A learning system.

The unit of value is a better creative decision — then the capacity to execute it.

01Prioritized hypothesis backlog

What deserves to be tested now, later, or not at all.

02Test-ready creative directions

Concepts designed around a specific customer or performance question.

03Experimental production capacity

The execution layer to turn high-value hypotheses into market tests.

04Creative knowledge base

A compounding record of what worked, what did not, and what that teaches us.

Our rule

Every creative
should answer
a question.

Q / 07

Does a product demonstration make the benefit more believable than testimonial language?

The goal is not to predict the winning ad in a conference room. It is to make each test teach us something useful enough to improve the next decision.

Continuous operating cadence

The loop runs every week.
The system compounds every month.

Month one establishes the baseline. After that, research, creative development and learning run as a continuous operating cycle — not a once-a-month handoff.

Systems thinking applied to creative growth.

DTC Performance Lab was founded by Alex Rybakov, a systems-trained operator with a background in optimization, brand strategy and marketing experimentation.

His research at MIPT focused on reducing the cost of testing marketing hypotheses before committing real traffic. The operating principle is the same: structure uncertainty, test deliberately, learn faster.

3 creative questions we’d test.

We’ll review your current creative library, customer language and category, then walk through the gaps we see, the first hypotheses we would prioritize and how we would turn them into experiments.
